"I know it's cliché, but this trip changed my life."
Elyse May, Google

During this expedition, a team of volunteers will participate in an incredible opportunity to understand and fight human trafficking.

While operating schools in India, Effect.org saw decreasing numbers in girls’ attendance. Upon learning they were being lost to the trafficking trade, Effect.org founder, Casey began to create a documentary exposing India’s trafficking underworld. Whilst filming, Effect.org made valuable partnerships with nonprofits fighting trafficking throughout India and Nepal.

I had an amazing experience that exceeded my expectations. It was truly a life-changing week and will never see the world in the same way. Thanks to the team for putting together an impressive schedule of events, pulling together a great group of volunteers and helping each of us really delve into the experience. I learned a lot, experienced a lot and most importantly was moved to action through the encounters I had during the week. I would highly recommend this opportunity to anyone who is ready for a life-altering experience.

I loved it. It exceeded my expectations by far. Everything was perfectly organized and I could feel every single day I stayed there that our help can be useful for the NGOs in Nepal and for the girls.

The expedition was one of growth in perspective and empathy for a cause that most Americans are blind too. The expedition was beautifully organized by Effect and the NGOs were taught me more then I could have ever imagined. I felt like I was gone for 3 months not a week! The travel is tough and switching out of your routine into a developing country is no easy feat. However, every small challenge that pushes you out of your comfort zone helps you grow more as an individual and our group did grow collectively! Being able to improve the operational success of these NGOs was a huge success during the hackathon. You realize that there are so many small wins and the gratitude from both sides is heart warming. Thank you for changing my life!

Non-profit Effect.org has been running schools in India since 2010 and noticed a decline in the number of girls attending. Casey Allred, the founder of Effect.org was shocked to learn that many girls were being trafficked into the sex trade. He was personally disturbed by the growing epidemic and wanted the world to know the truth, teaming up with a director to create Stolen Innocence, a trafficking documentary (Releasing late 2017).
Human trafficking is growing rapidly as the second largest criminal activity in the world, with at least 300,000 girls trafficked in Asia alone. Although many people are unaware that trafficking exists, this expedition is the perfect opportunity to learn about the issue and apply your skills to create change!
The team members will learn the scope of the human trafficking problem through interactive involvement with nonprofits, locals and survivors. You will get to observe the socio economic factors that contribute to the issue and how traffickers use this opportunity to seize vulnerable women and children. You will get to visit rescue and shelter homes along with border points run by the non-profits to see how processes work. Lastly, you will get to meet non-profits and survivors, and hear inspiring stories.
We will be staying at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu
The team of volunteers will be accompanied by an experienced expedition leader.
